Bryant University
On my last day in Rhode Island, we visited Bryant University. Bryant is all about the building interiors. They are gorgeous. The exteriors are fine, mostly built in the 70's when Bryant moved to Smithfield, RI. But the interiors have been revamped, remodeled and repurposed, and the results are impressive. Even more impressive is the business school. For example, students in the Financial Services major can earn Bloomberg certification and prepare to sit for the Securities Industry Essentials Exam (SIE,) and the Series 7 exam. These students will be eligible to sit for the CFP exam upon graduation. This is HUGE! Also, Freshmen come back from winter break early to attend a 3-day, one-credit design thinking bootcamp. They are given a real world business problem, sent out to do observations, and come back in teams to solve the problem. There are no lecture halls at Bryant, and many classrooms have 4 walls of whiteboards to allow for hands-on creativity. With D1 Athletics and free buses to Providence, there's a lot to do outside the classroom as well!
