We were so lucky that a college friend of mine and my daughter’s life coach introduced us to Nancy after a not-so-positive experience with another college coach. While I don’t recommend trying to get everything completed within a couple of weeks, that is exactly what Nancy was able to help my daughter do; my daughter was behind in what needed to be completed, and trying to get her college applications ready for early acceptance while studying in the UK. Nancy was no nonsense but showed my daughter compassion. She discussed our tuition budget, helped my daughter select appropriate schools for her intended major (aerospace engineering), found schools the previous coach had neglected, and set reasonable timelines for my daughter to follow. She was willing to adjust her schedule to a UK clock and spent the necessary hours with my daughter to get the job done. My daughter had a week’s vacation in November during which Nancy scheduled as much time as needed, which was a lot. My daughter was able to submit fourteen applications for early acceptance and was accepted to almost all the schools selected. Nancy has kept in touch with my daughter to check in and see what college acceptances or what scholarships she has received. Her enthusiasm and encouragement are greatly appreciated, and has helped my daughter stay on track with her entire college selection process.

Someone must have been looking out for me and my twin boys to have out lives intertwine with Nancy. I truly do not know where my boys would be without her guidance. We met Nancy after attending her college planning talk at our local library in June 2018. I called her shortly thereafter and never looked back. Our calendar quickly filled up with college visits and meetings with Nancy. I had not even begun to to consider a plan of how to tackle the college application process before meeting her and I think I would still be shaking my head about what to do if I hadn't. I would highly recommend Nancy! I am a very organized and thorough person and didn’t think I would need help with my daughter’s college process. But then I heard about Nancy doing an event about college essays. My daughter and I could not attend so I decided to reach out to Nancy to see what her work was about. She replied immediately and stated what she does. I liked the idea of her helping my daughter come up with a topic that would make her stand out so we set up a meeting. My son is in the top 7% at Pinkerton Academy. I had no doubt that he would get accepted at just about any college he applied to. This not exactly true today. The competition is fierce. There are a lot of smart kids out there now and in addition colleges are "looking" for much more than academics. They are looking for what separates our kids from everyone else. The essay is a BIG part of the process. My son wrote what would have been considered an A paper...in an English class. But not as a college essay. Nancy is amazing! My mom set up an appointment because she heard that Nancy asks 100 plus questions to try to help determine a good essay topic. As a senior in high school, I’ve been increasingly feeling more tired and less motivated to do work. I’ve been procrastinating more than ever. While some deadlines for school work may be pushed further, college deadlines may not. As someone who procrastinates, applying to college by myself would have been a nightmare. Applying to college was a very daunting process at first glance. Throughout the process, however, it wasn't. I am beyond thankful I had Nancy to help me through it. I finally finished by the end of September of my senior year. When I worked with Nancy, we worked in step. I couldn't think of the college essay I had to write when we were just beginning to decide where I was going to apply. The process was laid out in sections and steps opposed to one big process. She worked very patiently as I was indecisive, or couldn't decide what I wanted to write about. We went through each essay I wrote and made sure that the grammar was correct and the question was answered. She was able to help me fix the problem without giving me the answer. Beginning the college process can be very stressful. Nancy was very knowledgeable with all aspects of the college admissions process including standardized testing strategies, helping to determine colleges to visit and apply to and most importantly the application itself. Having Nancy work with my sons enabled me to remove myself from the stress of the application process. I came to Nancy when I was applying to veterinary school for the second time. My essays needed a lot of work, but Nancy helped me rework them, so I would stand out to admissions. She was so encouraging and helpful during our writing sessions, and she was always so supportive when I got stuck or when I was frustrated from writing the same essay 10 times. Also, Nancy was so gracious when she helped me work through my unorthodox essays about my time milking cows or about my eight pygmy goats even when she might not have understood. By the time we were done, I felt so confident that my essays and my application as a whole had improved immensely. Finding ourselves in a bit of a desperate situation at the beginning of our child’s senior year because of a lack of college guidance resources at her school, we met Nancy in August. Nancy helped our family in numerous ways. First, despite having a full roster of existing students, she was able to fit us into her schedule at this late point in the process. Second she provided a truthful landscape of the college admissions process; the difficult process was eye opening to us. Third, she worked with our daughter to understand her interests, and then tailor lists of schools that she should consider; an important part of that process was explaining which schools she would have a higher chance of gaining acceptance vs. those that would be more a reach. Finally, her coaching on the written parts of the applications including most importantly the essays undoubtedly helped our daughter’s application.
