Case Western Reserve University is a study in contrasts. It's a very urban campus, but has a lot of green space and traditional quads. There are beautiful buildings that are 100 and 200 years old juxtaposed against incredibly modern buildings and sculptures. It's a place where high achieving young people know what they want to do and plan to get there but with single door admissions (with the exception of nursing), you don't have to decide until your sophomore year. STEM students can intern at the Cleveland Clinic, and musicians can do a dual degree or a minor with the Cleveland Institute of Music, both world-class institutions. A remarkably high percentage of undergrads live on campus, so for such an urban university, there's a very strong sense of community.
