I had a wonderful visit at Denison University today! It's ranked 12th in the country for innovation, and I can see why. While it's a small liberal arts college, it has also become a career-oriented institution with traditional as well as pragmatic majors such as Data Analysis, Global Commerce, Global Health, Data for Political Research, Financial Economics and Computational Science. Additionally, there is a well-staffed career center with experts from different industries, helping students find jobs as well as internships. If an internship is not paid, the university offers an opportunity for stipends. Also, Denison has something called the Red Frame Lab, which is a very unique combination of design-thinking lab meets consulting center, where students can bring problems they'd like to solve and think through solutions. The lab is staffed with faculty and business leaders mentoring entrepreneurship. Finally, Denison has a thriving arts culture with amazing facilities one would never expect in a college that serves 2300 students. The brand new Eisner Center is truly beautiful. At the end of my day, I came across a wonderful group of students playing outside with their American Roots music class.
