I loved Dickinson College before my trip, and I love it even more now. Global awareness is big here. There are 13 different world language departments. Thirteen. Study abroad is big and, by percentage, they send more athletes, scientists, students of color and first-generation students abroad than any other college in the country. It's a wonderful liberal arts college where Steve Smith, the CEO of L.L.Bean, graduated with an art history major. Leon Rose, the president of the Brooklyn Nets also graduated from Dickinson. Do not dismiss a liberal arts education! But if you want to be more practical, Dickinson offers International Business & Management and Data Analytics majors as well. Sustainability is also huge here. They own a 180 acre farm a few miles from campus. 65% of the produce grown there is used by dining services on campus and much of the rest is donated. The farm is also used to study renewable energy, and it's a living laboratory for many departments including biology, art and English. Use your imagination. They do!
