I visited Emerson College in Boston today with 2 wonderful colleagues. While Emerson is well known for the arts and communications, I was particularly struck by the co-curricular organizations that dovetail with each major. For instance, for the Creative Writing major, there are several campus lifestyle and literary magazines. For the PR major, there's the Public Relations Student Society of America chapter. For the Political Communications major (how cool is that?), there's the Emerson Polling Society - which, by the way, was the "least wrong collegiate pollster in the 2016 presidential election!" The most interesting major I learned about is Business of Creative Enterprise - a business major tied in with the arts industry. Lastly, there's a great minor: Emerson Entrepreneurial Experience - Emerson's version of Shark Tank. It takes place over 3 semesters, and involves creating, pitching, and marketing a product. Emerson is a great school, directly adjacent to the Boston Common, with tons of hand-on learning for students interested in theater, film and communications of all kinds.
