George Fox University is a private Christian university in Newberg, Oregon. While it was founded as a Quaker university, now less than 5% of students are practicing Quakers. However, the majority of students do come from faith-based backgrounds. It's a non-denominational institution, a dry campus, and all faculty and staff sign a statement of faith, but students are not asked to do so. There are 15 chapels required per semester and 3 theology based classes are also required. All housing is single sex, and students are required to live on campus for 2 years.

With about 2400 undergraduates, George Fox University is the largest private college in Oregon. It's in the heart of wine country, one hour from the Portland airport. Student life organizations arrange shuttles to the airport during vacation times.

There's a vibrant intramural program and George Fox has the highest attended football games in the Northwest Athletic Conference with an average of 3000 spectators.

Engineering and nursing are direct admit programs here, and the nursing NCLEX pass rate is 100% The average GPA of admitted students is 3.5 and while most students don't send standardized test scores, the average was 1180 when they were required. George Fox is on the common app, there's no application fee, and no letters of recommendation are required. Essays are also not required but they're accepted. All students receive merit scholarships ranging from $6K to $20K, based on GPA. They also offer a $1000 scholarship just for visiting campus and meeting with an admissions officer, and virtual visits count! Additionally, they offer a chance to earn a $1-2K scholarship by interviewing with faculty in your potential major.

With a beautiful campus and a lot of school spirit, George Fox seems to be a great place for a Christian student to spend four years!
