Kansas State University
I had a great visit to Kansas State University in Manhattan Kansas, aka the "Little Apple." Some notable alumni include Kirsty Alley, Erin Brockovich and Eric Stonestreet, whom I'm told is very generous with his alma mater. K-State was the nation's first operational land-grant university.
Today, it's recognized by Princeton review as #1 for best quality of life, #2 for students who love their college, #3 for best town-gown relations, #4 for best health services and happiest students, #6 for best athletic facilities, #7 for best career services and best student support and counseling services, #8 for best-run colleges and best campus food, #16 for most active student government, and #19 for best college dorms. Also a top 10 for best college towns in the nation. Not bad!
Looking forward, Kansas State has pledged to be recognized as one of the nation's top-50 public research universities by 2025. If you come to campus, make sure to visit the renowned Insect Zoo. And yes, K-State offers bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in entomology!
