Providence College
Providence College this afternoon. There are great things happening here! First of all, PC is one of only 3 institutions of higher education to be granted a Phi Beta Kapapa chapter this year! Providence also received a $300K grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to help its art gallery rebound from the pandemic. There's a brand new science building with new labs and "new toys," as a chemistry professor gleefully told us when she stepped out of her classroom to say hello. The dining hall is also brand new, and the food is amazing, including - get this - a U Cook It station where students can do just that and a case of pastries that looks like it belongs in an upscale bakery. The core curriculum is still founded on 4 semesters of writing-intensive Western Civilization, and PC has the usual liberal arts and business majors plus a brand Music Technology and Production major.
