My 4 colleagues and I visited Wheaton college in Norton, Massachusetts yesterday on MAP Day. What is MAP Day, you ask? It's a Wheaton tradition, an acronym for Mentored Academic Pathways, that occurs a couple of times a year. Classes are canceled and students are given the opportunity to reflect on their Wheaton journey as they plan their pathway through classes, internships and extracurriculars. In the past, this has included time management, alumni panels, financial planning, internship and job search strategies, community building, musical performances, a reading by an award winning author, and discussions on equity and inclusion. The college also provides food trucks with lots of free food on MAP days as well as other days throughout the year. Some fun facts: Wheaton is home to an award-winning synchronized swimming team. It is also the birthplace of many Fulbright and other scholars. Wheaton is 30 minutes to Providence and 60 minutes to Boston and 96% of students live on campus campus. With merit scholarships ranging from $32,000 to $42,000, the average all-in price is $29,000. Wheaton College is a wonderful option for students seeking the quintessential New England liberal liberal arts college with an approachable admission rate and price!
