Wichita State University

I had a great visit to Wichita State University recently. Wichita Kansas is a city of over 600,000 people. It used to be known as the air capital of the world!! Aviation manufacturing is still a big deal here with many companies represented. As such, aerospace engineering is a great program at Wichita State. The university has been investing in corporate partnerships for a number of years and NASA internships are available as well. In fact, the National Science Foundation ranked Wichita State University 4th among all US universities in money spent on aerospace research and development in 2015.

WSU offers many other engineering majors and plenty of other departments to explore, including education, fine arts, business, health professions and liberal arts. What I really loved about the campus was the very interesting statuary everywhere. While this has traditionally been a bit of a commuter school, there are more and more students living on campus than ever before.

Fun fact: Wichita State is the site of the original Pizza Hut!
